Albert Cager Peters, known affectionately as Junior, journeyed from this world on January 21, 2026, leaving behind a profound legacy of love, kindness, and laughter that will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew him. Born on August 13, 1964, in Athens, Tennessee, he grew up to be a gentle soul whose life was defined by his unwavering commitment to his family and friends.

Junior’s early education began at Claxton Elementary School and blossomed at McMinn County High School, where he immersed himself in mechanics and architecture. Those years not only shaped his skills but also ignited a lifelong love for tinkering and fixing things, passions that would later blossom into a fulfilling career as a self-employed small engine repairman and carpenter. His neighbors will fondly remember how he always stood ready to lend a helping hand—whether it was repairing a fence, troubleshooting a stubborn engine, or simply sharing a laugh over a job well done.

His life was a rich tapestry woven with the threads of humor, generosity, and neighborly love. With every encounter, one was welcomed by his radiant smile, a firm handshake or an embrace, and always a seat at the table accompanied by a chilled Mountain Dew and captivating stories that danced upon the air. Junior's spirit was contagious; he had an uncanny ability to make everyone feel valued and cherished, a testament to the simple heart that he carried through life.

A man who loved deeply, Junior’s greatest pride lay in knowing that his family, friends, and his beloved dog Roscoe felt the depths of his love. He cherished the time spent strumming his guitar, creating melodies that echoed his whimsical spirit, and belting out karaoke tunes that turned ordinary moments into joyous celebrations. Fishing trips, family gatherings, woodworking projects—each was infused with laughter and camaraderie, ensuring that memories clung tightly to the fabric of those he adored.

Junior's passing was serene, as he walked home peacefully, enveloped in love, with his faithful companion Roscoe by his side. He leaves behind his beloved sister, Janie and L.C. Hicks; his sister Kathy Peters; and Great Aunt Joy Key. He is lovingly remembered by his nieces, Velma (Robert) Collins and Sharon (Chris) Yglesias, nephew Jim Hicks, as well as great-nieces Laura and Sierra Collins, Sarah Rogers, and great-nephews James "Mickey" Crowder and Jeremiah Rogers. Junior's cherished honorary son, Joseph Hayes, along with numerous cousins and friends, also carry his memory forward, their lives forever enriched by the love he so freely gave.

As we reflect on Junior's remarkable life, we recognize that his most profound accomplishment was not measured in worldly terms but rather in the love and kindness he shared with all—an everlasting reminder that the greatest gift one can give is to uplift others without ever expecting anything in return. Albert Cager Peters may have departed from our sight, but his spirit, his laughter, and his legacy of unwavering love will remain with us always, woven into the very essence of our being.
